UK's 'greenest commercial building' opens

Morgan Sindall has completed construction of the UK’s greenest commercial building, the Enterprise Centre at the University of East Anglia.

The Enterprise Centre has achieved record-breaking sustainability credentials for a building of its kind by achieving both BREEAM Outstanding and Passivhaus accreditation.

The innovation lab incorporates teaching and learning facilities and flexible workspaces for SMEs and start-ups in the low carbon sector. Sustainability features include vertically hung straw thatch panels, locally-sourced timber and recycled sub-base from a local demolition project.

The architect was Architype, the engineer was BDP, the sustainability consultant was Adapt Low Carbon Group and the landscape architect was Churchman.
