Envelope Package Manager

To lead the safe delivery of envelope packages to achieve cost, time and quality objectives within project guidelines and to develop appropriate delivery and supply strategies and plans for specific packages.
Manage the trade contractors and design team to safely deliver, on time, to stated quality, at minimum cost to client Satisfaction. Act as the link between the project team, lead designer and other key project stakeholders. An important element being the management of the trade contractors design to the agreed programme – leading design workshops and general package management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Promote a positive H&S culture on the project, ensure H&S procedures are followed and maintain H&S standards at all times.
• Ensure a valid H&S plan is in place for envelope package contractor prior to appointment.
• Prepare and review tender documentation, including tender scope, arrange and managed tender meetings and tender submission sign off.
• Agree construction methodology and understand work package split and interfaces.
• Manage quality of envelope package works with regard to review and approval of quality plans, inspection and test plans.
• Maintain QA file, submittals, samples and acceptance criteria, inspections, snagging, close-out, handover, certification and void closure.
• Co-ordinate stakeholder input to envelope package contractors ensuring all potential interfaces are considered. Ensure appropriate risk mitigation is in place.
• Prepare and maintain envelope package risk register
• Ensure contract documents are executed.
• Co-ordinate design with envelope package contractors and other stakeholders, including arranging workshops if necessary.
• Management of logistics requirement for work envelope package.
• Set up and maintain meeting schedule for the envelope package.
• Manage and track programme for the envelope package and take action where necessary.
• Manage contra charge process and agree monthly valuations including preparing change requests.
• Ensure RFI's are answered within timescales.
• Carry out regular site safety tours and audit envelope contractor documentation. Follow up on any actions with relevant parties.
• Ensure envelope contractors investigate all incidents including near misses.
• Prepare handover schedule and ensure any outstanding defects are rectified.
• Ensure O&M's and practical completion certificates are prepared and accepted.
• Monitor and report progress of work in relation to programme and take prompt action to address any issues.

Education & Skills

• Educated to HND or equivalent level skills managing delivery of envelope works
• Relevant Degree preferred but not essential
• CSCC card holder
• Previous experience of working in a similar role in the construction industry.
• Extensive experience in curtain walling, cladding and envelope works managing complex projects
• Successful track record of working with clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Sound knowledge of UK and EU legal framework, including Health and Safety regulations, contract law, environment and building regulations.
• Knowledge of key project processes such as design principals and management, construction processes, procurement and tendering.
• Excellent IT skills & strong time management and organisational skills
• Able to work in a pressurised environment
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, using a flexible pragmatic approach.
• Enthusiastic and can-do attitude with an ability to adapt to and manage change.
• Knowledge and understanding of industry best practice
