Project Managers - Cumbria & The Lakes

We are recruiting for Project Managers for one of the UK’s top construction providers on exciting projects in Cumbria & the Lakes.

  • We are looking for two motivated and effective Project Managers to join their established construction team covering new long term high value projects based out of Kendall, Barrow and Whitehaven.
  • The right candidates will be managing large construction projects in the manufacturing and public sector, and will have experience of motivating and delivering on successful projects between £7-£50 million.
  • To be successful in the role you will already be experienced as a Project Manager with a proven record of leading and delivering construction projects from preconstruction through to successful completion, within a range of industries and ideally have experience of working with manufacturing and security projects.
  • You will be responsible for the leadership, direction and management of their project to appropriate Health and Safety, time, cost and quality targets, as well as providing planning and support to project operations.
  • As part of delivering operational excellence you will be required to manage client interfaces and handle queries which can be specific and demanding.
  • A key part of the role will be representing the Operations Director occasionally in meetings and able to action in the best interests of the Company.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years' on-site construction experience with significant recent experience in management positions.
  • Good knowledge of contract and health & safety law.
  • Clear thinker with determination and energy, good planning abilities, well-organised and seeking perfection.
  • Able to lead teams comprising a variety of abilities.
  • Willing to lead by example and work on own initiative.
  • Able to focus on and achieve project goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, numeracy, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure, whilst ensuring deadlines are met.
