Job Purpose Summary

To ensure that the all the operational activity of a designated project meets the programme schedule, within budget, to a high quality standard and in strict accordance with health, safety and environmental legislation and in accordance with company procedures and core values. Some roles may co-ordinate several projects simultaneously and normally within close geographical locations.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Line management of operational employees on site
• Monitoring and co-ordination of subcontractor activity
• To be the first point of contact for the client, members of the public and subcontractors
• To be the link between the front line employee base and contracts management
• Work closely and liaise as required with the design team
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the client and designers
• To monitor the progress of the project and manage issues as they arise
• Responsible for all health and safety on site and liaison with the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager
• Hold meetings on site regularly to ensure co-ordination of general activity and that required trades are correctly co-ordinated
• Conduct site inductions, tool box talks and job chats
• Ensure all documentation is correctly administered and Site Management Company Procedures are followed
• Cascade Company information to the operational employees and ensure two-way communication channels are in place
• Communication and liaison with service departments to facilitate a teamwork approach to problem solving and operational tasks
• Deal with performance management and disciplinary matters

• In-depth knowledge of the construction process gained through extensive experience of managing large, complex and high value construction projects

• Ability to plan and programme manpower on site
• Effective time management skills
• Problem solving skills
• Resilience when working to fixed deadlines and managing risk
• Good attention to detail
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Familiar with current health and safety legislation in a construction context
• IT skills e.g. word, outlook, excel
• Knowledge of Company structure, core values and wider business activity
