We are seeking a Civils Lead to join our team and manage civil work packages on a hyperscale project. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in construction project management, particularly within civil engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the coordination of civil work packages on this hyperscale project.
- Lead a project team of 20+ professionals, including package managers, design managers, engineers, and site supervisors.
- Support your team in managing 10+ subcontractors with a combined package value exceeding £100m.
- Oversee contractors’ design elements, ensuring designs are completed and relevant approvals are in place before on-site construction.
- Ensure Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes are followed by subcontractors carrying out works under your supervision.
- Manage Site Safety in conjunction with safety personnel (including set-up, management, and close-out).
- Manage Site Quality Assurance (QA) in conjunction with the Projects team.
- Manage the Project Schedule in conjunction with the Planner, Project Managers, Sub-Contractors, and consulting Engineers/Architects to ensure client requirements are adhered to.
- Support the tracking of project costs with the support of the project Quantity Surveyors (QSs).
- Manage all day-to-day site operations and documentation.
- Manage subcontractor activities, including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Conduct subcontractor meetings.
- Attend Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Coordination Meetings, as well as Handover Meetings.
- Support the close-out functions of all project items, including Final Account, Punch List (Snag List), Safety & QA Files, Material and Plant re-locations, and the Project Plan.
- Hold weekly commercial meetings with the commercial team to ensure all variations are captured and processed.
- Ensure change management is handled in accordance with established processes (Cost & Programme).
- Carry out, distribute, and close out Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) snags.
- Report directly to the CSA Lead.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a similar field is preferred.
- At least 7 years of industry experience in Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) roles.
- Previous experience delivering projects from concept to handover.
- Experience in scheduling, programming, managing subcontractors, and sequencing.
- Essential experience in effectively managing teams.
- Data centre experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Necessary experience in the delivery of large-scale projects.
