Commercial Director - Nuclear Projects
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to support the commercial management of new and existing nuclear projects. Reporting to the Project Director, the Commercial Director will be responsible for Contracts and Risk Management, ensuring that accurate and timely commercial advice is provided in accordance with project requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Contracts and Risk Management
- Oversee the management of contracts, subcontracts, and risk for nuclear projects.- Review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including requests for quotation, requests for proposals, confidentiality agreements, pre-bid agreements, purchase orders, subcontracts, consortium agreements, and joint venture agreements.
- Identify, document, and quantify changes in work and claims.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and support contract management and administration personnel.- Ensure that team members are trained, qualified, and competent to perform their assigned tasks.
- Client and Subcontractor Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact for contractual matters with clients and subcontractors.- Manage subcontractor agreements and ensure that relevant terms and conditions are effectively communicated.
- Process Management
- Develop and maintain efficient systems for identifying potential commercial issues and changes.- Oversee the change management process, maintaining a current log of all issues and change orders for each contract.
- Prepare project-specific contract administration manuals based on corporate templates.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the industrial engineering, procurement, and construction industry.- Experience working with joint venture or alliance contract agreements is preferred.
- Education
- Technical or legal post-secondary education is required.- Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of construction law, including negotiating and drafting major construction contracts.- Sound understanding of company operations and strategic direction.
- Familiarity with construction planning, scheduling, risk management, and contract administration procedures.

- Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.- Working knowledge of CGC – Contract Administration modules is an advantage.
