is seeking a Contracting Strategy and Execution Lead
to strengthen its contracting governance and delivery capability across a diverse international project portfolio.
This organisation designs, builds, and delivers complex assets across multiple geographies and is committed to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and world-class project execution.
This role is central to shaping contracting strategy, establishing consistent project standards, and providing high-level commercial oversight across greenfield and brownfield programmes.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Contracting Leadership
- Develop and embed a world-class contracting methodology within the organisation’s Project Management Framework.
- Build capability across project teams in contract planning , execution , administration , and close-out .
- Drive consistent application of contract management standards , project governance , and commercial assurance .
- Establish and monitor KPIs , benchmarking performance across the global project portfolio.
- Maintain a structured, central repository for contracting standards, tools, and best practice guidance.
Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Engagement
- Define robust Ways of Working with Procurement, Legal, Project Controls, Engineering, and wider project governance teams.
- Provide senior-level reporting and alignment to project leadership and external auditors.
Commercial Assurance & Expert Advisory
- Advise on FIDIC , procurement strategy, commercial risk, feasibility, estimating, and supplier performance.
- Lead assurance activities to ensure compliance with:
- Quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory frameworks
- Contractor and consultant obligations
- Documentation, warranties, bonds, guarantees, and insurance requirements
- Support risk identification, mitigation strategy, and early-warning processes across major projects.
Claims, Disputes & Contract Risk
- Work with legal specialists to manage claims and disputes in a structured, strategic manner.
- Provide recommendations to senior management on optimal settlement strategies, including Dispute Adjudication Boards (DABs) and Arbitration .
- Promote a proactive approach to risk management , change control , and contractual compliance .
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Law, or a related discipline (Level 8+).
- Proven experience in senior contract management roles within major infrastructure or capital projects environments.
- Strong understanding of FIDIC , EPC contracting models, procurement strategies, and commercial frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience developing contracting standards, governance structures, and assurance processes.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder-management capability.
- Proficient in MS Office and project management systems.
- Project management qualifications (PMI, PRINCE2, APMP) are advantageous.
