Position: Contracts Manager

Location: Longridge, Preston

Overview:

We are seeking a Contracts Manager to become part of our expanding team, contributing to projects ranging from £500K to £10M. Our focus spans the Education, NHS, Commercial, and Leisure sectors, operating under various Framework Agreements for both public and private clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans to ensure timely delivery by site managers and operatives.

  • Ensure adherence to company commercial policies and procedures by the site team.

  • Lead tender handover and pre-start meetings with the site team.

  • Generate and evaluate progress reports, cost updates, and forecasts.

  • Facilitate and document internal and external meetings, ensuring accurate records of discussions and actions.

  • Conduct weekly reviews of progress, budget, resources, and future planning.

  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety at all times.

  • Organise and motivate employed labour to maximise productivity.

  • Collaborate with architects, surveyors, and clients.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing education, commercial, and refurbishment projects valued between £500K and £5M.

  • Proficiency in handling both Traditional and Design & Build Contracts.

  • Background in working with a principal contractor.

  • Familiarity with Pre-Qualification and Tendering Processes for multi-discipline projects.

  • Strong understanding of contract conditions, regulations, risk management, and cost control, including forecasting and value reporting.

  • Possession of CSCS Management Card, SMSTS, First Aid, and Temporary Works certifications.

  • Exceptional people management skills with the ability to influence and mentor effectively.
