We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commissioning Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical commissioning activities on a significant project. You will be responsible for ensuring all electrical vendors comply with project specifications, deadlines, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in electrical systems, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing commissioning processes in a construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all commissioning-related tasks for electrical vendors, ensuring adherence to the project's work scope.
- Monitor the delivery of the commissioning scope and ensure deadlines are met.
- Communicate deadlines and commissioning programme milestones effectively.
- Supervise and report on commissioning programme progress and deadline adherence.
- Supervise and potentially attend Electrical Vendor FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and FWTs (Functional Witness Tests).
- Experience working on UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), Switchgear, Generators, MV (Medium Voltage) and BMS (Building Management System) Controls is essential.
- Organise, attend, and provide input to daily/weekly commissioning meetings, both internally and with vendors.
- Create and maintain weekly commissioning vendor progress reports for submission to commissioning management.
- Coordinate with the Project QA/QC Department to achieve common objectives related to quality assurance and control.
- Coordinate with the Project AP (Authorised Person) Department to achieve common objectives related to electrical safety.
- Track and obtain approvals for relevant project electrical commissioning documents, such as test scripts and compliance statements.
- Witness all vendor commissioning activities, ensuring they align with approved project documentation.
- Track the receipt, review, and compliance of project commissioning documentation to achieve the necessary commissioning level sign-off.
- Conduct commissioning tagging processes and procedures.
- Manage day-to-day on-site commissioning operations.
- Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or an Electrical Trade with relevant training and experience (e.g., NVQ).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within a construction environment, with experience in commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre-type projects being highly desirable.
- Proven experience working on LV (Low Voltage), MV (Medium Voltage), or HV (High Voltage) systems, with demonstrable commissioning experience.
- Extensive experience in electrical testing and verification (minimum 3 years).
- Solid construction experience and understanding, with a strong emphasis on safety.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to act decisively.
- A process-driven approach with a focus on EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) and Quality Work Management Systems and Processes is highly desirable.
