Job Description
The Electrical Design Manager will oversee and manage the electrical design projects within our organisation. This role requires technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership qualities to ensure that electrical systems are designed to meet safety, efficiency, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the electrical design team to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Oversee the design and development of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical designs into broader project plans.
- Conduct project reviews and design audits to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, regularly updating stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the design process.
- Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to help guide design innovations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles, code, and standards, including NEC and IEEE.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and interact with clients.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar.
Desired Experience:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical design, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering on time and within budget.
- Proven track record in successfully launching and managing electrical design projects from conception to completion.
