Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the sustainability strategy for infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to integrate sustainable practices into all project development and delivery stages.
  • Monitor and report on sustainability performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and communities to promote sustainable development initiatives and ensure transparency in reporting.
  • Stay abreast of legislation, guidelines, and innovations in sustainability, applying this knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
  • Facilitate training and workshops for staff and stakeholders to foster a culture of sustainability across the organisation.
  • Develop partnerships with external organisations, NGOs, and governmental bodies to advance sustainability agendas within the infrastructure sector.
  • Lead the assessment of environmental impacts and devise mitigation strategies in compliance with environmental legislation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications related to sustainability, such as LEED, BREEAM, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability practices in construction and infrastructure development.

Desired Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a sustainability role within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing sustainability initiatives and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and community relations.
  • Strong familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance issues related to construction projects.
