Role Summary To lead on tender bids on the South West Water Framework, taking responsibility for the projects from inception to contract award. Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Estimating Team to ensure timeframes are achieved for the technical and commercial elements of bids.
  • Take the lead on tenders with the representatives, establishing win strategies and key drivers for selection.
  • Lead in tender bid settlements with the appropriate grade of director personnel who can sign off bids.
  • Work within a small pre-construction team based within the Framework Team, liaising with the construction delivery teams prior to contract award.
  • Liaise with design managers or lead the pre-construction design process depending on the project size and complexity.
  • Liaise with other teams – Managing Estimator & Estimating team, Construction delivery teams, Design Managers, Planning Manager.
  • Lead bids and take responsibility for client liaison during bid, technical bid submissions, and lead bid settlement meetings with appropriate director.
Requirements
  • Extensive site experience, comprehensive pre-construction experience – bid writing/submissions.
  • Ideally with similar peer group contractor.
  • Personable with excellent communication skills.
  • Able to think quickly on their feet and adapt to situations.
  • Good written English skills and highly numerate.
  • Team player, winning mentality.
  • Engineering/Construction Management background.
  • BSc Hons in construction-related subject (Desirable).
  • Safety training – SMSTS (Desirable).
