Job Summary
The Senior Bid Writer will lead the development, editing and proofing of compliant, concise and compelling bid responses and tender submissions. Working with the tender team, you'll understand clients' requirements and expectations to develop value propositions, articulating win themes and solution narratives. This role requires excellent writing skills and project management abilities. You should be comfortable in a technical environment, leading deliverables workshops and meetings, working with multi-faceted teams and challenging subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop responses that meet tender requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Collect and maintain project summaries and value-add data from live projects and past submissions- Work with cross-functional teams to devise win strategies and ensure win themes transcend submissions
- Analyse client requirements, including compliance and evaluation criteria, to produce answer plans
- Conduct research to gather relevant information and strengthen responses
- Develop content, answer plans and responses, refining approaches to maximise scoring
- Engage in the review process, applying quality control and incorporating feedback
- Collaborate with graphics team to develop required visuals
- Produce and finalise responses in line with bid programmes, meeting deadlines
- Provide regular updates to question owners and/or Bid Managers
- Attend coordination meetings and update daily leaderboards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and reflect accurate ways of working
Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
- Proven senior bid writing experience in the construction industry- Knowledge of bid and tender processes across various tender values
- Excellent writing and editing skills with keen attention to detail
- Technical or engineering academic background
- Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure
- APMP certification (Foundation or Practitioner level) valued
- Ability to research, analyse and present material clearly and concisely
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive and pragmatic approach
- Proficient in MS Word and collaborative tools (MS Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
