- Assist in project set-up, casting baseline budgets, and establishing rules of credit to support earned value management; ensure alignment of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
- Liaise with construction teams on scheduling sequencing, assist in determining schedule priorities, and support constructability reviews.
- Proactively identify schedule variances and logic gaps; facilitate the development of recovery plans and other remedial action plans.
- Enter daily/weekly progress into the schedule and provide progress status reports.
- Maintain detailed baseline or schedule change logs to ensure the integrity of the performance measurement baseline.
- Regularly perform critical path analysis to flag delays, identify near-critical paths, and parallel paths within the schedule.
- Conduct schedule quality analysis using assessment tools (e.g., Acumen Fuse) and address deficiencies identified.
- Support change management processes by analysing trends and conducting schedule impact assessments.
- Provide inputs into schedule risk analysis modelling to support risk management processes.
- Maintain baselines with approved changes, ensuring contractual alignment.
- Regularly export schedules into project records if managed in a client's environment.
- Develop fragnets for use throughout the project lifecycle across different phases for similar scopes.
- Lead meetings focused on assessing schedule progress, obtaining updates, and general coordination.
- Perform regular field tours to validate progress.
- Assist in creating a project-specific Schedule Management Plan for incorporation into the Project Controls Plan.
- Identify and lead rebaseline efforts when required.
- Manage integration of subcontractor schedules (if applicable), reviewing for quality and assessing progress while providing feedback to project leadership.
- Administer the P6 database; control access to maintain data integrity and set standards in collaboration with other sectors.
- Establish a cadence for importing backup copies of project schedules managed in clients' P6 environments.
- Assist in project set-up by converting bids into baseline budgets and reconciling gaps.
- Liaise with external groups (Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Construction, etc.) to gather inputs for Project Controls reports.
- Create and maintain project status update reports, forecast reports, and dashboards; ensure timely issuance to internal and external stakeholders as per client requirements.
- Develop customised reports or dashboards to adapt to evolving risks and project needs.
- Maintain resource plans ensuring cost and schedule alignment.
- Conduct variance analysis to understand trends and baseline deviations in support of rigorous change management; provide variance narratives and propose corrective actions or recovery plans.
- Prepare Earned Value Management KPIs to assess project performance.
- Assist in creating tools and templates that ensure compliance with processes outlined in the Project Controls plan and contract requirements.
- Review contracts for compliance with reporting conditions, change management, and other Project Controls areas.
- Participate in customer and internal management project status reporting meetings.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Offer subject-matter expertise on customised reporting tools and dashboards to the project team.
- Monitor project health and performance; ensure key performance metrics are clearly articulated to project leadership.
- Conduct detailed analysis on key performance metrics (e.g., CPI, SPI); propose corrective actions to maintain performance/productivity; provide timely feedback on adverse trends.
- Support implementation of an Earned Value Management plan for measuring project performance, identifying variances, and informing accurate forecasting.
- Assist in developing project-specific Project Controls plans along with tools and templates for implementation.
