Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the workforce, supply chain partners, and other stakeholders to support the achievement of project and corporate health and safety objectives.
- Follow directives from and provide regular updates to the Works Manager.
- Prepare and issue necessary work permits for daily operational tasks.
- Verify that personnel assigned to your work packages possess the required competencies for their roles.
- Chair supervisory meetings and forums for your work packages, ensuring your team and supply chain are kept informed of current requirements and information.
- Provide feedback from the workforce and supply chain to the project leadership team.
- Ensure all activities within your work packages adhere to company procedures and standards, and that safe systems of work are developed and approved before commencement.
- Manage the deployment of appropriate plant, tools, and equipment, confirming suitability, inspection, maintenance, and quarantine as needed.
- Identify training requirements for employees and the supply chain where necessary.
- Oversee and coordinate supply chain activities within your work packages on a daily basis, managing their interfaces.
Essential Criteria:
- Possess the legal right to work in the UK.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role.
- Hold a valid CSCS card at Supervisor (Gold) or Manager (Black) level.
- Hold a CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection card if required to inspect basic scaffolding.
- Hold the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions autonomously on site.
- Strong teamwork capabilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Good understanding of relevant structural and civil engineering statutory procedures, particularly regarding Health and Safety.
- Advanced capability in problem-solving.
- Comfortable interacting effectively with all levels of management across different departments.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Competent in understanding and working to construction programmes.
- Proven ability to delegate tasks effectively and supervise personnel.
- Exceptional multi-tasking skills and meticulous attention to detail.
