Position: Lead Building Services Coordinator
Location: South East England, UK
Salary Range: £70,000 - £90,000
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Building Services Coordinator to join our team, focusing on public sector construction projects valued up to £120 million. This role involves nurturing client relationships, overseeing on-site mechanical and electrical teams, and collaborating closely with subcontractors and design consultants. You will report directly to the Project Director and work on a hybrid basis from our London office during the pre-construction phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the on-site Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) team or major trade packages.
- Provide functional reports to the Project Director, including design reviews and time-related information for tenders.
- Ensure design compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Support the commercial team with value engineering, variations, and dispute resolutions.
- Assist with tender submissions and pre-construction activities.
- Develop design scopes for consultant fee proposals and M&E subcontractor tenders.
- Coordinate with client representatives, design consultants, and subcontractors.
- Oversee design management within a design and construct contract framework.
- Manage the implementation of subcontractor designs during construction.
- Review design, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules.
- Chair meetings related to M&E design, construction, and completion.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and safety standards.
- Maintain high-quality standards and proactively address quality issues.
Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of a CSCS manager's card.
- Extensive knowledge of the construction industry.
- ​​​​​Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including CDM, and the ability to enforce company safety policies.
- Strategic thinker with visionary capabilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of building services, including design principles, construction techniques, and commissioning.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with subcontractors, consultants, and team members.
- Proven ability to deliver work packages and exceed commercial targets.
