Environmental Manager
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our team, focusing on environmental oversight for construction projects across Europe. This role is critical in ensuring our projects adhere to the highest environmental standards and sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
Environmental Planning and Compliance:
* Draft and review Construction Environmental Management Plans.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental permits and regulations.
* Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
On-Site Environmental Management:
* Review construction methods to proactively mitigate potential environmental risks.
* Develop and deliver environmental training and toolbox talks to site staff.
* Oversee spill prevention and response procedures, ensuring preparedness and effective action.
* Ensure protection of watercourses and implement proper waste management protocols.
* Conduct regular site walkovers and audits to identify environmental issues and ensure corrective actions.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement:
* Prepare monthly environmental progress reports, detailing incidents, resolutions, and interventions.
* Lead incident investigations and track the resolution of environmental non-conformities.
* Promote environmental best practices and share lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
* Coordinate with clients on environmental certification requirements, such as LEED, ensuring project alignment and success.
Qualifications
* Qualified Environmentalist.
* A minimum of 7 years of experience within the construction sector.
* Proven experience in site supervision for high-tech, industrial, or similar projects.
* Strong background in environmental management and compliance, with the ability to implement and enforce best practices on-site.
