Health & Safety Manager
Summary
A leading data centre delivery partner providing turnkey solutions across Europe is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their team. Headquartered in Dublin, the company specialises in turnkey data centre solutions, providing services from design through to construction across the full range of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical services, as well as commissioning. They are the leading dedicated Data Centre delivery partner in Europe, currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in several European countries.Responsibilities
* Oversee that projects comply with the company's Safety Management System and standards.* Assist in the development of construction stage plans.
* Carry out H&S reporting and analysis of various metrics.
* Monitor Contractors and ensure their continued adherence to the company and/or client requirements.
* Represent the company for client H&S meetings, walks and inspections, and ensure timely close out of any actions from these.
* Work with site management and supervision to ensure the promotion of health and safety in all activities.
* Keep senior management appraised of H&S department work progress.
* Ensure compliance to relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation.
* Ensure compliance to the company's PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
* Oversee and support the development and approval of method statements, risk assessments, safe plan of action, and H&S permits to work.
* Oversee compliance with the project execution plans.
* Ensure that good safety practices are managed & maintained across the project.
* Oversee ongoing COSHH assessments and control of hazardous substances.
* Ensure that safety interventions are completed & registered.
* Carry out regular site audits and inspections, document results and follow up on any corrective actions.
* Maintain records of statutory inspections and ensure adequate documentation is available for the same.
* Adopt a proactive approach to project EHS requirements and promote best practices.
* Ensure project sub-contractors adhere to project & group EHS policies & procedures.
* Ensure that company induction & training is coordinated, managed & maintained.
* Ensure that project PPE is resourced, available and complied with.
* Assist or carry out accident investigation reports promptly & ensure communication to the company's project management team. Ensuring all corrective and preventative actions are suitably closed out.
Skills & Qualifications
* Experience in data centre construction projects is desired.* Relevant level degree qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
* 3+ years’ experience managing environmental, health and safety on large construction sites.
* Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation.
* Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
* Ability to efficiently manage all on-site environmental, health and safety issues.
* Strong communication & computer skills, as well as the ability to maintain reporting databases and associated documentation.
* Ability to work on initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
