We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team on two dynamic 170MW data centre construction projects in the Helsinki region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site logistics, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of materials and equipment. You will play a crucial role in coordinating with subcontractors, managing traffic flow, and maintaining a safe and orderly site environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the site compound, optimising all available storage areas.* Book and coordinate the delivery of materials to site.
* Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure they understand delivery locations from off-site storage facilities, ensuring safe practices and adherence to instructions.
* Maintain excellent organisational skills to ensure deliveries arrive on site in a timely and orderly manner.
* Attend pre-start meetings with subcontractors to ensure a thorough understanding of on-site challenges, storage space, delivery locations, and the booking process via the designated system.
* Liaise closely with subcontractors to ensure effective traffic management of all vehicles on site and deliveries.
* Promote a "just in time" delivery approach among all contractors, ensuring deliveries are complete.
* Prevent congestion and blockage of site roads, ensuring all loading and unloading of work-related vehicles occurs within the designated compound.
* Manage operatives, ensuring adherence to health & safety regulations and ethical work practices.
* Record and track labour allocation and work reports.
Requirements:
* A third-level qualification in an engineering or construction-related field is desirable; however, a strong trades background with 3+ years' experience in a similar role will also be considered.* Ideally, you will have 2+ years' experience in a similar logistics management role within a construction environment.
* Demonstrable leadership skills and experience managing a team.
* In-depth practical knowledge of managing loads, storage space, subcontractors, and operatives.
