MEICA Project Engineer - Water Industry
Key Responsibilities
- Manage MEICA elements of wastewater projects- Oversee subcontractors, designers and contribute to overall project delivery
- Ensure projects meet programme and budget constraints
- Conduct safety and quality inspections and testing
- Support placement of subcontracts and material orders
- Interpret discipline-related drawings
- Vet and inspect subcontractors' work
- Assist with project planning and programming
- Maintain quality assurance records
- Review subcontractor designs for buildability and compliance with standards
- Coordinate MEICA works to support design progress
- Attend site meetings and produce reports
- Provide technical assistance on contractual matters
- Liaise with clients
- Support commissioning and resolve snagging issues
Requirements
- Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification- Experience working as a contractor in the water industry
- Knowledge of sewage and water treatment works
- Understanding of NEC4 contracts and budget control
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to supervise site staff
- SMSTS, CSCS card, and EUSR Blue Card desirable
This role requires managing MEICA aspects of water/wastewater projects, working closely with the project team and client to ensure successful delivery while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Strong technical knowledge and project management skills are essential.
