We are embarking on a significant upgrade of our terminal facilities, aimed at boosting capacity and operational speed. This initiative aligns with long-term strategic plans to accommodate future growth in cargo volumes. Key improvements include optimising terminal layouts, electrifying equipment, and modernising berths.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with engineering services to incorporate project needs into crane designs.

    • Lead technical discussions with unions to align with collective agreements.

    • Manage design interfaces to mitigate risks and minimise rework.

    • Work closely with construction management to ensure design feasibility and alignment with execution plans.

    • Ensure contractor designs meet company standards and are delivered on schedule.

    • Maintain accurate records of design changes and ensure they are reflected in final documentation.

  • Quality Assurance:

    • Implement robust quality control measures, including design reviews and third-party verifications.

    • Ensure inspection and quality plans meet international standards and are included in tender documents.

    • Maintain traceability between requirements and final designs.

    • Participate in governance activities and contribute to project reviews.

    • Manage design risk registers and assess impacts of design changes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in infrastructure design, particularly in port and terminal environments.

  • Proven ability to coordinate complex, multidisciplinary design projects.

  • Strong understanding of local permitting processes and international design standards.

  • Ability to translate operational needs into technical designs.

  • Experience within client organisations and in terminal construction is advantageous.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is highly desirable.

  • Professional Engineering registration in the US is preferred.

  • Familiarity with project design and approval processes with regulatory bodies is beneficial.

  • Professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent are a plus.
