Company Overview:
Join a leading construction firm involved in the largest rail and infrastructure project in the north of England over the next five years. This multi-disciplinary project, valued at approximately £2 billion, focuses on upgrading the existing railway route between Manchester and Leeds through the Pennines.
Your Mission:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the project by:

Upholding high personal safety and environmental standards in line with company policy.

Ensuring compliance with company procedures and policies.

Maintaining effective communication across all disciplines within the alliance and the business.

Assisting in staff matters, including behavioral issues, competency, and staff allocation to meet project needs.

Conducting staff performance and development reviews and supporting the commercial training program.

Engaging with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting, and input to subcontract documents.

Managing subcontractors commercially, including processing payments, obtaining final account agreements, and resolving issues through negotiation.

Monitoring the timely production of cost performance data and initiating discussions on project performance.

Producing and presenting monthly/quarterly cost reports.

Identifying and evaluating changes.
-
Ensuring timely production of applications for payments.
-
Providing commercial advice to the site team and management on contractual issues.

Supporting the production of financial assessments of insurance claims.
Who We Are Looking For:
Necessary Requirements:

Membership in CICES or RICS.

Thorough knowledge of construction processes and working methods.

Successful experience at the Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

Demonstrable ability to mentor and coach colleagues.
