We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead a technical team in designing and overseeing civil engineering projects across the Caribbean and North/South American regions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure and coastal development projects, particularly in tropical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
- Lead the design and development of complex civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, ports, and coastal defence structures.- Oversee project teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary professionals.
- Ensure compliance with local and international design codes and standards.
Technical Expertise
- Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations.- Develop and review technical specifications and drawings.
- Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support during project execution.
Team Management
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.- Manage client relationships and effectively communicate project progress.
Business Development
- Contribute to business development efforts and proposal preparation.- Participate in industry conferences and networking events to remain current with trends and opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.- Professional Engineering (P.E.) licence or equivalent international qualification.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior role.- Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects in the Caribbean region.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, SAP2000, and HEC-RAS.- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials suitable for tropical environments.
Soft Skills
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Language
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or French is an advantage.Salary Range: £75,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
