As a Procurement Manager, you'll work on the procurement strategy with the Senior Procurement Manager. You'll be responsible for the delivery of project procurement objectives and requirements. Duties Include
- Member of both the project and senior management team, responsible for the delivery of Business Procurement objectives and requirements- Provision and implementation of Project Procurement/Supply Chain/Category specific/strategic trades
- Provide market intelligence, cost advice, supply chain performance management and feedback to Central Procurement and Work Winning
- Lead/support team(s) of Procurement professionals, including training & development, staff appraisals, retention & reward, and recruitment
- Responsible for the Procurement process of subcontractors, materials, plant and services, in accordance with the Project Procurement Strategy and company values
- Champion in-house opportunities through DfMA and self-delivery
- Provide an ethical and consistent approach to procurement, ensuring compliance with corporate governance and best practice
- Monitor markets and provide alternative procurement strategies to maximise opportunities or minimise risk
- Accountable for management information and reports in accordance with business requirements
- Champion innovation and propose new methods, materials, products and systems for competitive advantage and cost-effective solutions
- Attend Business Plan Review (BPR) and Senior Leadership team meetings, as required

- Experience in the construction industry or similar
- Ability to manage, plan and structure operational procurement resources
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Track record of delivering robust procurement strategies

- Demonstrable added value through procurement activity
Experience of CIPS or working towards CIPS is desirable (or chartership in another discipline such as CIOB or RICS). We're also considering relevant on-the-job experience. Candidates should be able to commute to our offices in Dartford, Manchester or Birmingham.
