Role Overview:

We are seeking a Technical Lead for an exciting new venture in Afungi, Mozambique, focusing on the construction of a significant jetty and marine offloading facility. This role involves overseeing the technical aspects of a large-scale site project, reporting directly to the Project Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the technical office, managing a diverse team including structural engineers, logistics managers, planning coordinators, BIM specialists, and more.

  • Organise and plan site activities to prioritise tasks, ensuring quality, efficiency, and continuity.

  • Address complex technical client requirements and manage specialised trades such as steel structures and concrete prefabrication.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master's degree in civil engineering (construction or architecture).

  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in managing large, complex construction projects, particularly in civil or marine works.

  • Familiarity with jetties and quay walls is advantageous.

  • Demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility, innovation, and a results-driven approach.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with a client-focused mindset.

  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

  • Willingness to work as an expatriate in northern Mozambique on a 6/3 rotation schedule.
