Title: Head of Healthcare – Bay Area (West Coast Sector Lead)
Location: Bay Area, California (Milpitas / Oakland bases, Bay Area market)
Our client is looking for a senior Healthcare construction leader to build and lead their West Coast healthcare business, focused on major acute-care hospital projects in the Bay Area.
This is a strategic, high-impact role for an American healthcare sector “big hitter” who has actually built large hospitals, not just clinics.
The Opportunity
- Lead the Healthcare sector for the Bay Area (South Bay/San Jose/Milpitas, Oakland, wider Bay Area).
- Own and drive the strategy to win and deliver large acute-care hospital projects (c.$500m–$1bn+).
- Take an already credible healthcare presence (clinics, smaller schemes) and move it into true tier-one hospital work.
- Step into a role that will allow the current West Coast healthcare lead to be promoted – you will be the face of the sector.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the West Coast Healthcare sector: market strategy, pipeline, positioning.
- Win work: front major pursuits, bids and interviews for large acute-care hospitals.
- Act as the senior client-facing leader with health systems, PM/CM firms, architects and MEP consultants.
- Provide executive oversight to major hospital projects to ensure safety, quality, programme and commercial performance.
- Build and lead a high-performing team (project directors, preconstruction, MEP/technical specialists).
What You Must Bring
- Led the delivery of at least one major acute-care hospital (not just clinics or small facilities).
- Significant involvement in projects in the ~$500m–$1bn+ range.
- Strong US healthcare construction track record.
- West Coast / Bay Area experience strongly preferred.
Nice to have:
- Experience on major international hospital schemes (e.g. Middle East mega-hospitals) combined with a US/North American background.
- Existing relationships with major Bay Area health systems and leading healthcare design partners.

- Recognised as a go-to leader for hospital projects.
- Strong client gravitas and communication skills at C-suite level.
- Commercially sharp on large, complex, high-risk schemes.
- Able to operate both strategically (market, growth, positioning) and hands-on with bids and live projects.
- Confident building and mentoring teams and future leaders.
