Employers

Who is hiring leaders, and who has moved, employer by employer.

Rows of windows on an office block facade

People search an employer's name to find out whether it is hiring at senior level, and the answer is scattered across careers pages, trade press reports and contract notices. Each page below puts the three together for one employer: the leadership roles it is advertising now, by function, the named senior moves into and out of it, and the contract awards it has won. The figures come from the Senior Hiring Index and the Construction Leadership Moves Index, and are rebuilt every few hours.

The employers

29 employers have a page today. Role counts are from the weekly sweep on 26 October 2026; moves are named senior appointments into or out of the business reported in the last six months.

"None recorded" means the careers sweep has not recorded a leadership role at the employer since it began, either because its careers pages are not on the watchlist or because it has advertised none, so its seats are not counted.

An employer has a page while it has at least 2 current signals: leadership roles open or added in the last 90 days, and named senior moves into or out of it in the last six months. A page whose figures fall below that comes down, and returns when they rise again.

How to read a page

Leadership roles open counts the director, head-of and chief seats an employer is advertising in operations, commercial, pre-construction, technical, planning and safety, the same seats the Senior Hiring Index headline counts. Finance, people and support seats are counted beneath it.

Senior moves are named appointments reported in the trade press, into the business or out of it. A report names the previous employer only about one time in four, so departures are undercounted.

Contract awards are the public notices that name the employer as supplier, with the value the buyer published, except where the published value is plainly wrong.

None of this is a judgement on any employer. An employer adding leadership seats may be growing, reorganising or replacing people who have moved on, and the only way to know which is to ask.

01

Which employers have a page?

An employer has a page while it has at least two current signals: director, head-of or chief roles open on its careers pages or added in the last 90 days, and named senior moves into or out of it reported in the UK trade press in the last six months. The list is rebuilt from the data every few hours, so an employer joins when its activity rises and leaves when it falls.

02

Where do the figures come from?

Three public sources. The role counts are the weekly sweep of employers' own careers pages behind the Senior Hiring Index. The moves are the named executive appointments counted by the Construction Leadership Moves Index, each linked to its report. The contract awards are the notices public buyers publish on Find a Tender and Contracts Finder.

03

Why does an employer I know not appear?

Either its careers pages are not on the weekly sweep yet, or it has had too little reported activity at senior level in the period. A quiet record is not a quiet business: many senior seats are filled through search or from inside without an advert or an announcement.

04

Can I use these figures?

Yes, with attribution to Lechley and a link to the page. For a cut by sector, region or employer, email scott@lechley.com.

Weighing a move?

If you are considering a seat at one of these employers, or hiring into one, I would welcome the chance to talk. No hard sell, no obligation.

Testimonials

I have had the pleasure of working with Scott over a number of years. I have to say it's been a breath of fresh air. If Scott makes an appointment, he sticks to it; if he says he will call you at a certain time, he does. I find Scott is a mixture of old-school values and his finger firmly on the pulse of modern recruitment technology. It has been my pleasure working with him, and long may it continue.

Mike Thomson
Executive Leader - Building Resilient Businesses

Working with Scott whilst searching for a new role was a very good experience. Scott helped me understand the opportunity and helped align my strengths to it, providing me with further confidence when interviewing for the position. Scott was happy to take the time to keep me updated with the process and its progress and I always felt he really wanted the opportunity to be the right one for me. Highly recommended.

Jerry Coll
Head of Building Services - Russell WBHO

Scott is as sound as they come, straight talking and no nonsense. Was pro-active in getting me my current role and I would happily recommend him to anyone looking for their next opportunity

Neil Coker

I've worked with Scott both as a client and candidate; both experiences were a pleasure. Too many in the recruitment field are reactionary and transactional; Scott is neither. He is the consummate professional - proactive, with an attention to detail and a determination to do the best job he can for his client and the potential candidate(s). This makes any recommendation a very straightforward process.

Keith Gourlay
Commercial Director

I’ve known Scott for over 20 years. He is a top-class recruiter with an in-depth knowledge of the market, employers and candidates. Easy to talk with, practical and realistic, I’m happy to provide a recommendation for him and his services.

Paul Taccagni
Managing Director

It was great working with Scott, given his very professional approach and good knowledge of the Construction industry. Scott understood my professional expectations and career aspirations, which led me to an accurate employment opportunity. What probably works in Scott's favour is his previous experience in the Construction Industry, which enables him to relate to clients better and gives him a leading edge over other headhunters. I would highly recommend Scott Lechley to anyone seeking career advice or a change of contracts.
